Designed for privacy-sensitive clinical settings
This tool runs entirely in your browser with no internet connection required. No data is transmitted or stored remotely. Suitable for clinical genetics environments where patient data cannot be entered into online tools.
How It Works
1Choose a shape (male, female, unknown) and click Add Person.
2Drag people to arrange them. Select a person to set annotation text, mark deceased/proband, or assign fill colours (solid, half, quartered, or shading patterns).
3Use Partner mode to connect two people with a partnership line.
4Use Child mode — click a partnership line, then a person — to draw a descent line.
5Use Draw mode to sketch freely on the canvas — great for quick drafts on mobile. Drawings don't interfere with shapes.
6Use Add Label in the side panel to place free-text annotations anywhere on the canvas. Adjust label size with +/−.
7Connected people move as a unit. Toggle Individual Move for independent positioning. Use the Key button to generate a colour legend.
8People are auto-numbered by generation and position. Export PNG for a raster image or Export SVG for a scalable vector file.

Draw Settings
Tap or click on a drawing stroke to remove it. Only drawings are affected — shapes and lines are safe.
Multiples of shape size. Applied when individual move is off.
Automatically rearrange to reduce overlaps and line crossings. Use Undo if you don't like the result.
